When I was 6 years old I was dragged through a shopping arcade in Chelsea harbour and saw a Kung Fu demo. I was not allowed to stay and watch but as I was looking over my shoulder whilst being pulled away I said to myself, "That"s what I am going to do!? The jumps, leaps, sweeps and staff movements fired a burning desire in me to become something. Years later I found myself in a kung fu class, jumping, leaping and sweeping. As we formed up I suddenly recalled the forgotten memory of me as a child watching the demo. In that moment it dawned on me that the people I watched in my youth were standing in the front row and the master teaching the class was the same one! my journey had begun.

I only had three dreams and goals when I was young; to learn Kung Fu, to learn Chinese Medicine, to go to China. I am now an instructor of FWC Kung Fu and Tai Chi in London North West and Bristol; I hold an honours degree in Traditional Chinese Medical Acupuncture and I go to China every year with my students. I have achieved my childhood goals. An accomplishment few can brag about.

I love my job as a full time professional instructor. It is incredibly rewarding and satisfying. l enjoy seeing my students fulfil their potential; change for the better and achieve their dreams by using what they learn from FWC Kung Fu. Each student is a brilliant new challenge.

I've achieved my goals, so what's next? Well, I will offer this system of martial arts to as many people as possible; to touch their lives in positive ways so students have the balance, determination and skills to achieve health, wealth and happiness in their life; and to make everyone aware that there is a better way: The FWC Way. I am going to see how far I can go in my Martial abilities, in Chinese medicine and as an instructor. I was given a Chinese name at my Dan grading with the Fujian Wushu Association in China, Dao Kai Wu, which translates to "Developer of Wushu" (Kung Fu). I am living up to this name.
