Philip Moufarrige
I grew up playing lots of sports, and trained in a handful of different martial arts - Judo and Tae Kwon Do as a child and Ju-Jitsu in my teens. They all had interesting and valuable elements, but once I discovered Fujian White Crane Kung Fu, I never looked back. This style is complete: its effectiveness has been proven and tested over several hundred years, and the benefits of training last a lifetime.
I work as a commodity broker in the city and started training on doctor's orders in order to strengthen my joints (I had suffered injury to my knees playing years of rugby) - but became compelled to evolve once I had met the chief instructor who showed me how intricate and powerful this style really was and how far you could take it. That was ten years ago.
Today I am stronger and more supple than I have ever been. The training has had a positive impact on all areas of my life - the discipline is both mental and physical - and has enabled me to achieve many things through singular perseverance. Training makes you faster, stronger and more agile - but also has a great social element to it; the students come from all walks of life and there is a good male/female balance in class which lends itself to a mutually supportive atmosphere.
As Socrates once said, "A life unexamined is not worth living"...
I learn more about our style in training everyday. I become better than I thought I could be.
Kung Fu is training for life.
